Encaustic Paintings

Encaustic painting is done with melted wax. I use a blow torch to move the wax around and

achieve the desired look. Ink and shellac are also added and torched for special effects. I love the fact that this medium is somewhat controlled but random at the same time. It is always a challenge and a fine balance that never fails to captivate me for hours.
